The wind sucked and pushed from the truck !

Have you ever been on a motorcycle or bicycle and when a large truck drive passes you at high speed and suddenly it seems like a strong wind pulls you and the car approaches to the truck? This causes driver to lose control of their vehicle until an accident may occur.

Today CAMEL TIRE would like to talk about “The wind sucked and pushed from the truck!” Danger that should not be overlooked because riding along the way with a large vehicle like a truck is inevitable. Therefore, knowing how to deal with the risks and avoid any dangers that may occur. It is something that should be done.

The wind sucked and pushed from the truck that occurs when the truck drives pass. It’s an event that can be explained by the "Fluid Mechanics" which is the science that studies the behavior of fluids and their forces. The fluid we are talking about is gas or air.

That’s when the truck drives at high speed, the air at the front of the vehicle will be split to the sides and top of the truck. This causes the force of "pushing wind". At the same time, the air will flow into the rear of the truck  to replace the air that has been split until it causes the "sucking wind" occurs at the rear of the truck.

From the above, it can be explained as follows:
1. If riding a motorcycle or bicycle near a truck. The air will move in front of the truck and will produce a pressure wave, that will push you away slightly. This causes driver to lose control of their vehicle.

2. If riding a motorcycle or bicycle near a truck in the rear area. The air will be sucked into the rear of the truck and may causes driver to lose control of their vehicle.

Therefore, if it’s necessary to ride a motorcycle or bicycle near a truck when a truck overtakes or drives past at high speed. Being conscious and aware of this effect, maintain good control of the car and prepare for the force of suction or pushing winds that may occur. Also be careful of the dirt or other things that may fall or splash from the truck.
