Riding in reverse
'Riding in reverse' is driving behavior that violates traffic rules and is very dangerous but we can still find such behavior commonly on the roads of Thailand. Due to negligence under the concept that “Just turn back a little. Why would you drive around or make a long U-turn? It's a waste of time. “Going in reverse, it's fast…”
It is true that going in reverse is likely to save more time than riding a long way to make a U-turn but is such time savings really 'worth' the dangers that must be encountered?
Because riding in reverse has a driving style that goes against other cars. Driving in the normal lane. It causes other cars driving normally to have to dodge and slow down, sometimes to the point of having to stop. Resulting in erratic driving and may cause an accident.
In addition, if the person driving along the normal lane does not see or does not notice the person riding in the opposite direction. Including cases where those driving along the normal route refuse to avoid those riding in the opposite direction because they think that those riding in the opposite direction should be the ones who must dodge. It may result in a collision and cause accidents.
So is it better? If we were willing to waste a little more time. Make a U-turn as normal. You may reach your destination a little later but there is more security.
